On Day 10 of our adventures in New Zealand, we continued our trip around the South Island and made our way to QUEENSTOWN. Our first stop was LAKE PUKAKI, where we marveled at the unbelievable turquoise water. The color is caused by the fine silt particles (a product of glacial erosion) suspended in the water. For lunch, we dined at Wild Earth Wines and sampled some of their local wines. CENTRAL OTAGO is one of New Zealand’s most scenic wine regions and produces some of the best Pinot Noir in the world.
Queenstown is the perfect destination for any adrenaline seeker. Home to bungy jumping, sky diving, canyon swinging, and jet boating, this picturesque resort town sits on the shore of Lake Wakatipu among dramatic, towering mountain ranges. The Skyline Gondola and Luge are great choices for those who want more family friendly activities.
After a long, fun filled day, we headed back to the REES HOTEL, lakefront accommodations with a spectacular view!
I hope you enjoy Day 10 of my New Zealand travel vlog series!
