The TWA Hotel features a stunning infinity pool with breathtaking views of planes taking off and taxiing

The TWA Hotel, housed in the TWA Flight Center, a landmark airport terminal for Trans World Airlines (TWA) in New York’s JFK International Airport was designed by architect Eero Saarinen in 1962.

The building was repurposed into a hotel in 2017, and many of its 512 guest rooms and suites grant ‘unprecedented views’ of runway four Left and 22 Right. The rooms’ floor-to-ceiling windows are said to be some of the thickest in the world, meaning no sound enters the rooms as you watch the planes take off.

After lounging in bed, you can retreat to the rooftop infinity pool to watch more planes take to the skies, or head to The Paris Café restaurant, where the menu is inspired by historic in-flight menus from Trans World Airlines. As a bonus, a Lockheed Constellation ‘Connie’ L-1649A aeroplane on the hotel’s grounds has been transformed into a nifty cocktail lounge if you fancy a tipple.
