Airline launches new holiday routes from the UK – including ‘Greece’s best-kept secret’

Jet2 has launched new holiday routes from the UK – and the list includes a top destination dubbed Greece’s ‘best-kept secret.’

The airline has expanded its Greek and Italian destinations for its summer 2026 programme – with three new holiday hotspots.

The expansion has seen the low-cost airline reveal two brand-new destinations for the season – in response to growing demand for sunny skies.

Olympus Riviera is the first Greek destination to be added to Jet2’s growing list.

Travellers can reach this location by flying to Thessaloniki from eight UK airports between April and October 2026, with services from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted.

Plus, Meganisi is another Greek destination added to the list.

Getting there involves flying to Preveza Airport from eight UK cities between May and October 2026.

Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle all offer routes, with ferry and shuttle transfers sorted for package holidaymakers.

Meanwhile, Palermo has been added as a brand-new European city break.

The Italian city – the capital of Sicily – will have flights starting in May 2026.

Birmingham offers weekly Wednesday services, Manchester gets twice-weekly flights on Tuesdays and Fridays, whilst Newcastle runs weekly Tuesday services until late October.

Jet2’s CEO, Steve Heapy, said: ‘We are delighted to be launching three brand-new destinations today and expanding our Greek and Italian programmes for Summer 26.

‘The launch of these new destinations is fantastic news for customers and independent travel agents and comes in direct response to the demand we are seeing for holidays and city breaks next summer.’

He added: ‘Greece and Italy continue to be summer sunshine favourites, so we are adding even more choice thanks to the introduction of getaways to the Olympus Riviera and Meganisi, and the addition of city breaks to Palermo.

‘These destinations will no doubt prove popular with customers and independent travel agents looking for either an authentic holiday experience or a city getaway.’

The Olympus Riviera is where Greece’s most legendary mountain – Mount Olympus -meets beautiful coastal shores.

It’s perfect for go-slow getaways, with long sandy beaches, seaside tavernas serving net-fresh seafood and sunsets that seem to last forever.

It’s set to become a firm favourite among Brits seeking all the best of Greece – mountains, beaches, scenery, good foot.

It also boasts hiking trails, ancient ruins and traditional towns, where squares buzz with local life.

For families, water sports, sandcastle-building and boat trips are on offer.
