The cheapest cities for food in Spain have been revealed – and the top spot boasts average meal costs of just £8.27.
Albox has been found to be the most affordable dining destination in Spain.
The average cost of a bottle of wine in the city is just £2.83 – and the cost of a meal for two is £19.36.
The traditional Spanish market town in Andalusia is the country’s most affordable spot.
In second place is the popular Gran Canarian city of Las Palmas, where an inexpensive meal averages at £9.14.
Wine is slightly pricier at £4.68, but still very affordable, making a meal for two with wine just £22.95.
It comes as interest in finding affordable dining in Spain has surged in recent months, with worldwide searches for ‘cheap food Spain’ rising by 2,381 per cent in the past three months, according to Google Trends.
Travel booking website Omio has calculated the average cost of an inexpensive meal across Spain’s main cities.

Taking the third spot is Granada, another Andalusian destination.
In this spot, an average meal costs £11.31 and a bottle of wine around £4.35, bringing dinner for two to just £26.97.
A must-try local dish is remojón granadino, made with salt cod, oranges, olives, and eggs.
Two vibrant hotspots made the top five: Seville and Marbella, with a meal and wine for two costing just £27.80.
In both cities, the average meal costs £11.31 – and a bottle of wine £5.18.
If your priority is sipping on a bargain rather than hunting down cheap meals, there’s still plenty to toast to.
Albox tops the list for the cheapest bottles, but Zaragoza isn’t far behind at just £3.05 a bottle.
Alicante and Adra follow closely at around £3.48.
Seville also makes the list of the top five cheapest food destinations in Spain
Spain is known for attracting tourists for its culinary delights.

Tourists can sample restaurants in different cities, as well as try cooking classes and visit wineries.
And food markets are a popular tourist activity too.
