Las Vegas’ ‘most haunted’ hotel is offering thrill seekers $5,000 to spend the night – would YOU do it?

Are you a bit of a daredevil? A thrill seeker? A fan of ghosts and all things paranormal?

If so, you might be on the hunt for a spooky adventure – especially now, in the run up to Halloween.

Las Vegas’ ‘most haunted’ hotel is offering one brave soul a staggering $5,000 (£3,700) to spend a weekend within its walls.

The El Cortez Hotel and Casino, the oldest hotel in the city – often dubbed its ‘most haunted’ too – has set a new challenge.

It is hosting a contest for a participant to spend a weekend at the hotel and hunt down ghosts.

One person will be chosen to participate in the spooky adventure, the New York Post reported.

The legendary El Cortez, the longest-running hotel casino in Vegas, is situated in ‘the Old Strip’ or ‘Old Vegas.’

This establishment has seen it all since it first opened its doors in 1941: mobsters, murders and even paranormal activities.

At 84 years old, it’s got everything you might expect from a historic building – things that creek and shadowy figures galore.

‘We’re sending you to investigate, fully equipped with ghost-hunting gear, to see if the stories are true!’ the contest listing from Casino.org read.

It added: ‘Why El Cortez? Opened in 1941, it’s the longest-running hotel casino in the city, with decades of mobster sightings, high-rollers, and paranormal happenings.

‘Many have whispered about shadowy figures, phantom footsteps, and sudden cold spots.

‘The chosen ghost hunter will check in to El Cortez for a haunted weekend stay, where you’ll explore the casino’s oldest and eeriest corners, searching for signs of ghostly activity.’

The winner will have to explore the premises, walking around areas that are rumoured to be haunted – especially at night.

Ghost-hunting equipment is essential: the lucky winner will need to try out EMF meters, EVP recorders, flashlights, and thermal sensors to detect unusual activity.

It is also essential to capture evidence on camera.

The participant is required to take plenty of photos or short videos to document anything spooky.

Another condition placed on the winner is they must compile a short report of the scariest, funniest, or even mysterious moments to send back to the hotel.

Applications are open between October 6 and 31.
