TUI has announced three new direct routes to an idyllic Greek island – making it easier than ever to get a taste of true Mediterranean charm with its sublime beaches, ancient Angora ruins and hospitable locals.
The island of Kos is the third largest island in the Dodecanese group, situated 277 miles from Central Greece and only 20 kilometres from Bodrum, Turkey.
Known as the home of Hippocrates and the father medicine, Kos boasts a long, rich history, having been inhabited since the first Primaeval Bronze Age (2.900 – 2.100 BC) and influenced by many cultures, such as the Romans, Venetians and Ottomans.
Thanks to the remains of all these cultures, along with its ancient archaeological sites, vibrant nightlife, and crystal-clear waters, the island remains a popular holiday destination – with almost 1 million tourists visiting each year.
Now, TUI has launched brand-new flights from London Stansted, Bournemouth and Exeter for Summer 2026 – giving UK holidaymakers a hassle-free way of seeing the Greek gem for themselves.
For the first time ever, Bournemouth and Exeter are directly connected to Kos by TUI, which will benefit travellers who can now jet off to the island from their local airport.
The Stansted route, meanwhile, is making a comeback after being axed in 2019, with twice-weekly flights operating on Mondays and Thursdays.
Customers flying from Bournemouth and Exeter can book longer seven or 14-night holidays, while Stansted offers more flexibility with 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, or 14-night stays.

The island is an ideal hotspot for summer trips, with average temperatures hitting a toasty 27C – perfect for sun-chasers to soak up some Mediterranean rays.
It’s also a bargain destination for travellers sticking to a strict budget – with the average beer costing around £3.50 and an ice cream around £2.60.
The best way to see the island in all of its glory is to book a guided tour, which will take visitors on trips trips to the mountain village of Zia and the ancient Asclepieion archaeological site.

It comes after a major airline has launched its first direct route from the UK to Thailand’s largest island.
Virgin Atlantic is set to jet off from London Heathrow to Phuket from October 18, 2026.
The new route will operate three times a week on a Boeing 787-9 and packages including the flight are available to book from today (October 30).
