Glossy holiday guru Conde Nast Traveller has revealed its selection of the best new hotels for 2026 – including three spots close to home – in its 2026 Hot List, compiled by experts.
The top picks include an experimental Parisian hotel, a historic revamp in Madrid and a whole host of options everywhere from Mexico to Costa Rica.
These are the best of the best from around Europe and the UK – and below are the winners from all over the world…
Orient Express La Minerva – Rome, Italy
The Orient Express La Minerva Hotel, in Rome, is the first destination on the list
Orient Express La Minerva opened in April last year, just steps from the Pantheon and within easy walking distance of Rome’s cultural treasures.
Meticulously restored by award-winning artist-architect Hugo Toro, the hotel blends Rome’s heritage with new sophistication, offering guests an authentically Roman experience.
Each room is an homage to the golden age of travel, featuring bespoke bedside trunks, rich wooden detailing reminiscent of the legendary carriages, and luxurious bedding crafted by Rivolta Carmignani, the same linens once gracing Orient Express sleeper cars.

Don Carlos is located on the Andalusian coastline in the iconic Costa del Sol region in Spain, a favourite among Brits.

The Florentin by Althoff Collection – Frankfurt, Germany

Corinthia Rome
Next up is the Corinthia Rome, a new offering from the popular hotel chain
The historic Piazza del Parlamento, Corinthia Rome opened its doors in March this year to much fanfare.
The former Bank of Italy has been reimagined as a hotel, retaining its monumental structure and original 1920s frescoes.
Located in the neighbourhood of Campo Marzio, moments from the Pantheon, Roman Forum and Spanish Steps, it’s a great place to stay in the heart of Rome.
The Chancery Rosewood – London
The Chancery Rosewood is one of London’s best new hotels
The Grade II-listed building, once the home of American diplomatic relations in the UK, has been transformed into a luxury hotel after the US embassy relocated in 2017.
The Chancery Rosewood, which had its highly anticipated opening in September last year, was restored by British architect Sir David Chipperfield.
Following an eight-year renovation, costing a reported £1 billion, the hotel is now complete with a grand entrance hall and spacious lobby – and that’s just when you walk in.
Rooms – or, rather, suites, as this is an all-suite hotel – can go up to as much as £26,100 for the residence-style House suites.

Fairmont Golden Prague – Prague, Czech Republic
The only hotel in the Czech Republic listed is the Fairmont Golden Prague
