Brighton crowned UK’s best city for a night out – as London does not even make the top three

Nightclubs, bars, pubs and restaurants together make up a city’s night life offering.

But not all cities are created equally, and some provide a far better ambience than others.

Now, the UK’s best city for a night out has been revealed – and it’s not London.

The winner? Brighton has taken the top spot in the ranking.

The seaside city has a huge number and range of nightclubs and bars, beating even popular spots such as Manchester.

The study by Ireland Prestige Tours has revealed the southern city comes out on top.

It analysed the number of nightclubs, bars, and pubs per 100,000 people, and the average cost of a hotel for two nights based on two adults sharing.

It also examined the average cost of a pint to help conclude the best option.

Brighton comes to life at night with lights and many establishments open

Brighton’s only downfall was the cost of a pint – at £6, it’s almost on par with London.

The city’s nightlife is famed for its LGBT+ clubs.

The popular club Revenge, based across three floors, is renowned as a party destination.

PRYZM Brighton is another popular spot for clubbing on the south coast.

With student events, themed nights, special guests, competitions and giveaways, there’s plenty to appeal to a range of visitors.

One of the best-known options, Volks Club, is situated under Brighton’s promenade – providing exquisite beach views.

The club, located on the Brighton Seafront, has provided underground club nights in Brighton for more than 25 years.

During the summer, outdoor seating gets full quickly due to huge numbers flocking to the establishment.

Bars, hotels and restaurants on offer increase the coastal hotspot’s appeal too, with options ranging from cosy B&Bs to larger hotels, local dining spots and cocktail bars.

Other cities were at the top of the list too, following Brighton.

Coming in at second and third were Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Manchester.

Belfast came in fourth, and in fifth place was Aberdeen which has the advantage of an average pint price of £4.
