To celebrate the opening of its new Newcastle base, easyJet has partnered with Greggs to serve sausage rolls on flights for the first time.
For one day only, passengers flying with the budget airline can enjoy the iconic British baked treat at 30,000 feet, paired with a selection of six holiday-inspired dipping sauces.
These unique flavour combinations are influenced by the airline’s top destinations, featuring choices like: Sangria, Tarte Tatin, Harissa Ketchup, Kebab and even Affogato.
Silky Affogato, a classic Italian treat, features notes of deep roasted coffee, cocoa and vanilla bean, while tangy Tarte Tatin, a French pastry, contains the comforting taste of caramelised apple and cinnamon, with a hint of thyme.
Harissa Ketchup, meanwhile, features a sweet-and-spicy kick that forms a base to many Tunisian dishes, while Sangria captures the spirit of Spain with bursts of red wine, zesty orange and tangy cranberry.
Passengers can kickstart their trip to Turkey with a Kebab dip, featuring zesty lemon, tangy vinegar and smoky paprika.
The free treat is available onboard all international easyJet flights departing from Newcastle today, 23 March.
However, Geordies who aren’t flying anytime soon can still pick up free limited-edition dipping sauces throughout the week from a special easyJet cabin crew service station in Newcastle city centre.

The new three-aircraft base at Newcastle Airport will become the airline’s 11th UK base following recent launches in Birmingham and Southend, creating 130 direct jobs and supporting 1,200 regional roles.
From today, easyJet will offer 86 weekly flights to 22 destinations, including new routes to Lisbon, Rome, Dalaman, Antalya, Rhodes, Enfidha, Malta, Nice, Prague, Corfu, Reus, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Tenerife, and Faro.
As part of its nationwide expansion, easyJet will open its 11th UK base in spring 2026, following similar launches in Birmingham and Southend.
Launching with 800,000 seats, the new base provides summer beach packages, including flights, accommodation, transfers, and 23kg luggage.

It comes after Greggs has blamed Rachel Reeves’ rise in National Insurance (NI) costs and minimum wages for its increase in the price of sausage rolls and lattes.
Britain’s biggest bakery chain saw a 5.5 per cent rise in its costs last year, which was ‘primarily driven’ by employment costs, including the increase in NI contributions.
Labour staged a £25billion raid on employer NI last year – putting up the rate paid by firms and reducing the salary threshold at which they start to pay it.
The Government also sharply hiked minimum wages, with larger increases for under-21-year-olds bringing them closer to the rate paid to older workers.
Greggs admitted it could not mitigate cost inflation through savings and instead attempted to recover profits through ‘careful pricing activity’.
As a result, the Newcastle-based firm increased the price of sausage rolls by 5p to £1.35 and the price of lattes by 10p to £2.25 in January.
