‘If those wings are clapping, we know something’s going down in the back’: Pilot reveals what it’s like flying a ‘mile high club’ plane over Vegas that has a cabin fitted with a DOUBLE BED

‘If those wings are clapping, we know something’s going down in the back. We don’t know exactly what but we’re pretty sure… that they understood the assignment.’

Captain Anthony ‘Tony’ Blake, a pilot with 42 years of experience, is describing to MailOnline Travel what it’s like piloting a twin-engine Cessna 414 aircraft during his ‘mile high experience’.

It’s a flight he’s made 3,000 times over the past four years as co-founder and chief pilot of the Love Cloud Vegas tour.

The experience is a private flight over the Las Vegas desert and Strip, with up to four customers at a time joining the mile high club by having sex on the double bed installed in the back.

‘It’s a very private, romantic date night,’ says Tony. ‘We do feel it. I do feel it. I like to say I have a very sensitive joystick upfront.

‘They move their feet and move to the back. I feel it. It’s a smaller mid-size aircraft. And we feel everything – unfortunately.’

While Captain Tony says he can feel everything that goes on in the back, he claims that he can’t see or hear anything his loved-up passengers are doing.

He explains: ‘We have our headphones on and they cancel out all noise. We are flying in very restricted airspace. On Friday nights and Sunday nights, generally, we are the busiest in the country.

‘We’re doing a circle in and out, down, under and around the airspace. We have probably at any given moment – 24 hours a day – 50 pilots taking off, 50 pilots landing.

‘We’re constantly hearing directional vectors – if we miss two calls, my 42-year licence is out the window. So it’s very busy in my ears.’

The pilot also can’t see into the back of the aircraft because of a divider placed between the flight deck – ‘we’re not allowed to call it a cockpit anymore’, he says – and the cabin.

He commented: ‘We’ve never taken the divider down. We have curtains up. Unfortunately, that’s all we can do.

‘They’ve never come down once by accident on a flight. So we won’t see.’

The Love Cloud plane interiors are ‘constantly improving’ but so far they contain a spacious bed, sheets and a blanket, cushions and seats where passengers can be strapped in for take off.

What passengers get up to while on the mile high club experience is up to them – it’s ‘fair game’ according to Tony and some go all out bringing ‘toy bags’, arriving in ‘sexy lingerie’ or ‘blindfolding’ a lover.

Tony said: ‘If those wings are clapping, we know something’s going down in the back. We don’t know exactly what but we’re pretty sure… that they understood the assignment’

Tony adds: ‘We toss the sheets, we put on new sheets. Once last year, we bought all the red satin sheets that Google has. We are buying like 500 a month’

Thankfully, Love Cloud is strict with its hygiene process.

While Captain Tony jokes about cleaning the sheets ‘once a year’ he told MailOnline that they usually ‘toss them’ after every flight.

He says: ‘We have four aircraft and all of them have 45 minutes to an hour downtime between flights.

‘We have a ground crew, we toss the sheets, we put on new sheets. Once last year, we bought all the red satin sheets that Google has. We are buying like 500 a month.

‘We have bed-liners and the beds themselves get tossed out about every 60 days – these are the cleanest beds in the city.’

In addition to the experience in the air, passengers are picked up from their hotel in a limousine – ‘it comes with chocolate, Champagne and flowers complimentary’ – before heading to their flight.

Captain Tony notes: ‘They get driven into the airport, no security, no TSA, nobody’s gonna frisk your nuts down or look inside your purse, and you drive right up to the aircraft on the ramp with the red carpet out.’

However, if the passengers are too drunk, they’re grounded.

Tony explains: ‘If I open a limousine door, and I’m seeing people that are falling over, they’re getting right back in the limo.

‘This is not a drunk party or a disrespectful party. These are lovers. If they’re sloppy drunk, they don’t need to come out here on this flight.’

Other common reasons for cancellation include maintenance and faults with the aircraft.

Tony says: ‘We’re in the aviation world, we have the same bar that any flagship carrier would have as far as maintenance goes, probably a little higher because we’re a smaller company.’

Captain Tony, pictured, says: ‘This is the only job in my life I can’t wait to get out of bed for… I love it. I mean I like to fly airplanes and I like to have sex’

Love Cloud’s passengers must be over 18 and come from all age ranges above this.

Tony says: ‘The demographics are from 21 to 80. We’ve had 80-year-old-plus people coming out here. More than you’d actually imagine.’

However, they tend to fall into one of two demographics.

‘Most of our clients, 90 per cent, are regular blue-collar workers. Most of them have never sat in a limousine before,’ says Tony. ‘The other five per cent are – I can’t say porno anymore – are content creators.’

Adult video creators book out the Love Cloud to film in the air – five AVN (Adult Video News) awards have been handed out to the airline’s passengers for their work behind the divider, the captain notes.

When asked if Love Cloud hosts any big names, the pilot says: ‘We have not had any major monster names.’

While the mile high club might not be everyone’s cup of tea, former commercial pilot Tony is flying high on his success, bolstered by his small aircraft that ‘keep the costs down’, so everyday people can afford the experience.

He says: ‘This is the only job in my life I can’t wait to get out of bed for… I love it. I mean I like to fly airplanes and I like to have sex.

‘I told my wife, I said, “We’re gonna put those two together and we’re gonna make it the most magical thing”.

‘Even though we don’t know what’s going on in the back our clients always come with a huge smile and they come happy and they leave twice as happy.

‘At the end of their flight, passengers get a mile-high certificate and a wallet-size plastic card that says, hey, they’re a member of our club.’

Love Cloud Vegas also offers wedding flights, where passengers are married on the ground before take-off, and sunset flights.

The mile high club experience comes in three packages: copper (30 minutes, $995/£785), silver (45 minutes, $1,195/£943), gold (60 minutes, $1,395/£1,101) and platinum (90 minutes $1,500/£1,184). Visit: lovecloudvegas.com and www.instagram.com/love_cloud_vegas.
