Perfect for tourists with a love of weird and wonderful things, this museum in Split, Croatia, contains a collection of 507 different taxidermied frogs, posed to appear as if they are participating in human activities.
Froggyland, which sits next door to a 4th-century palace built for Diocletian, an emperor of Ancient Rome, features 21 dioramas of frogs arranged in various scenes depicting human life, such as school, parties and work.
Think of it as being like Amsterdam’s Body Worlds – but for frogs.
The species were collected between 1910 and 1920 by Hungarian taxidermist Ferenc Mere, who developed a technique for preserving the frogs without making incisions.
The collection first consisted of 1000 samples, 507 of which have been preserved in perfect condition.
While the museum has been open since 1993, social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram have helped raise the profile of this unusual museum.
Froggyland even featured in an episode of Travel Man: 48 Hours in… with Joe Lycett and Aisling Bea.
But it’s not for everyone.

‘I walked by this place so many times just a couple weeks ago and thought it was just some weird, gimmicky store that sells frog-themed memorabilia,’ wrote one user.
They continued: ‘If I had only known it’s a weird, gimmicky museum that features frogs doing human things then I may have been enticed to enter.’
‘It’s hilariously stupid, loved it,’ read another comment.
‘Froggyland is fun for what it is. Have a couple of beers and check out the taxidermied frogs in silly situations. How often would you have a chance to see that? You can go to a museum any time,’ concluded another.
