Sitting by a crackling fire and escaping the cold weather outside in a warm, welcoming pub is a great way to spend the festive period.
There are so many locals to choose from that it can be hard to find the perfect spot for a Christmas pint.
Luckily, foodie website Eat Drink Meet has revealed the top 10 cosiest pubs to celebrate in this season.
The research carefully selected the most festive pubs out of thousands of venues across the country.
At the top of the list is The Coal Hole, in central London’s Savoy Court on the Strand.
The Grade II-listed building has plenty of history, character and charm, and first opened its doors back in 1903.
Diners can tuck into hand-carved turkey with all the trimmings and a festive nut roast.
Or, if they fancy something different, a pan-roasted salmon fillet is on the menu as well as a dark chocolate truffle torte.

Its Christmas menu is very festive, with apple and mince pie crumble as well as a range of different drinks.
The Black Bull, in Gateacre, Liverpool, ranked third and is located nearby the city centre making it a perfect spot to stop by after a busy day of Christmas shopping.
Dogs are welcome and the festive menu features twists including a camembert and bacon stack burger as well as a turkey and pancetta pie.
In fourth place is another country pub – The Glover Arms, in Huntingtontower Park, Perth.
The venue is full of festive cheer throughout the Christmas season and is even hosting ‘breakfast with Santa’ experiences.
The Travellers Rest in Caerphilly placed fifth and can be found tucked away in Thornhill.

It has been around since the 1800s and boasts a crackling hearth as well as festive decorations throughout.

Bacchus Bar, Birmingham, nearby the city’s Christmas markets, came eighth and The White Lion in Allesley placed ninth.
Rounding off the top ten is the Old Bull and Bush in Hampstead, North London.
