With sparkling waters, golden beaches and holidays starting from £450, one of Spain’s cheapest coastline has emerged as a budget-friendly option for summer breaks.
New research has revealed the eight cheapest coastal regions on mainland Spain, with average prices ranging from £457 to £662 per person.
With the cost of living continuing to weigh on household budgets, choosing the right coastline could make a significant difference to the overall cost of a holiday.
The study found that Costa Cálida offers the cheapest breaks, with average prices of £457 per person.
The stretch of coastline lies in the southeastern region of Murcia, boasting more than 150 miles of beaches alongside clear Mediterranean waters.
The area is also home to the Mar Menor lagoon, widely described as Europe’s largest saltwater lake.

The ‘Warm Coast’ enjoys approximately 315 sunny days a year, making it one of the driest climates in the region
Its shallow and typically warmer waters make it popular for water sports and swimming, while the wider coastline is known for its relaxed atmosphere compared with some of Spain’s busier hotspots.
Dubbed ‘the Warm Coast’, the region enjoys a dry climate with around 315 sunny days a year.
Waters around Cabo de Palos are particularly well known among divers because of the high concentration of historic shipwrecks beneath the Mediterranean.
Second place in the ranking went to Costa Brava, where average prices were estimated at £471 per person.
The Catalan coastline is known for its rugged cliffs, small coves and picturesque villages including Cadaqués, while the nearby seaside village of Port Lligat was once home to the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí.
With average costs of £538, Costa Dorada, also located in Catalonia, ranked third.
The region is known for its long stretches – 81 kilometres to be exact – of golden sand, the historic city of Tarragona and the nearby PortAventura World theme park, which features one of Europe’s tallest rollercoasters.
Further down the list were Costa de Almería in fourth place at £562 per person and Costa Blanca in fifth at £566.

Chris Webber, head of Holidays and Deals at TravelSupermarket, said Spain continues to offer reliable value for British travellers despite continuous pressure on household budgets.
He said: ‘Spain remains one of the most reliable destinations for British holidaymakers seeking value, and with budgets still under pressure, it pays to be a little flexible about where you go.
‘Costa Calida in particular stands out – it consistently delivers on beaches, weather and facilities, but tends to fly under the radar compared to the likes of Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca, and that’s reflected in the price.’
