Testing Flyaway Kids Bed- Inflatable Travel Bed!

SPOILER: I highly recommend the Flyaway Kids Bed for long overnight flights with a toddler! Our 1-year-old did amazing on the 15 hour flight to Australia, thanks to this inflatable bed. He slept half the flight (I think he will do better as he gets used to it!) and when he wasn’t sleeping he was happily playing by himself on his bed. It allowed Lockie and I to do what we wanted while easily keeping an eye on him next to us.

The Flyaway Bed is sold in Europe and therefore you can only buy it online. It comes with a small hand pump to inflate it easily on the plane. I was quite impressed with the durable material of the bed and the overall quality. (I’m a bit picky when it comes to these things!)

It will be interesting to see how Lennox adjusts to the bed as he grows and gets bigger. The Flyaway site says the bed is for kids ages 2-7 with a maximum weight limit of 110 pounds. The bed is pricey at $159 + $20 shipping but WORTH the investment if you travel a lot!

Be sure to check the Flyaway website before you fly to see if the bed is allowed on your airline. (Currently accepted on 40+ airlines) We flew Delta and had no one question the bed at all. FlyawayDesigns.com

Other options for toddlers on planes include strapping them into their car seat, having them on your lap, an inflatable foot rest pillow and the JetKids BedBox. I haven’t tried these other options yet but I will report back when I do!
