📝Things to know before visiting: there is no airport in Tulum, you fly into Cancun. It’s pretty simple to get around – rent a car, taxi, or scooter around. Take the ADO from the airport if you don’t want to rent a car
🏝️Tulum is a city. The beach is about 15 mins away. It’s typically more affordable to stay in town vs on the beach
🚙How to get around: I would recommend a car if you’re staying in town (we rented a car for 1 month). If you’re staying on the beach, there is one main road that has all the resorts. It’s very easy to walk/bike in that area
🤿 Things to do in Quintana Roo
➤ Snorkel + swim in Cenotes (there are 6,000+)
➤ Explore Valladolid – a charming, colorful town in the Yucatan
➤ Swim with whale sharks (you can do this in Holbox/Cancun but find an eco-friendly tour)
➤ Explore the Sian Ka’an Reserve for wildlife/Mayan ruins
➤ Book a catamaran + snorkel the bluest water
➤ Take a cooking class + shop the local markets
➤ Eat the $1 street tacos (this is all we ate in Holbox)
➤ The best taco spot in Tulum is @taqueriahonorio
➤ Visit Chichén Itzá and Coba for ancient ruins
➤ Best places to visit: Playa del Carmen, Holbox, Isla Mujeres, Bacalar, Cozumel, Akumal, Tulum
