The European holiday hotspots with the best weather this Easter revealed

Millions of Brits jet off on holiday over the Easter break, with many hoping to catch some sun and enjoy good weather.

After weeks of rain, and summer still a few months away, it might be more important than ever for holidaymakers to find the perfect sunny destination.

Fortunately, new research analysing historic rainfall, wind speeds and mean temperatures of over 150 locations has revealed the European hotspots to head to.

Turkey proved to be the best, with average temps of 18°C, low wind speeds and minimal rainfall in previous years.

It is also the destination with the lowest amount of rainfall during the Easter holiday months – a mere 0.01mm.

Out of the 150 destinations analysed, Turkey proved to be the best for the Easter holidays, with average temps of 18°C, low wind speeds and minimal rainfall in previous years

Overall, it bagged 9.04 out of 10 in TUI’s ideal weather score.

One of TUI’s travel agents, Abbie Watkinson, previously explained how Turkey continues to be the winner for families and couples seeking five-star experiences without the premium price tag.

With stunning Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines, and exceptional all-inclusive packages, Abbie says it’s no surprise her customers consistently turn to Turkey for good bargains – especially with average temperatures hitting 25 degrees in May and staying nice and high all the way to September, when it’s still around 30 degrees.

She adds: ‘Lots of the resorts out there have family-friendly facilities and kids’ clubs – my personal top pick would be the Platinum Rixos Sungate.

‘You get free access to the Land of Legends theme park and it’s also got its own waterpark with 13 flumes! There are also 13 bars in the hotel…. so everyone in the family will be happy.’

Greece ranked second in the research, with an average temperature of around 15°C over Easter.

The dreamy destination sees minimal rain too, with just 0.03mm of rainfall during the Easter months.

Bulgaria followed in third place, with 0.43mm of rainfall and average temperatures of 15°C.

Elsewhere, Spain and Croatia ranked fourth and fifth – boasting 15°C and 17°C sunny days.

Natalie Johnson, product and proposition manager for TUI Holiday Villages, explained how Easter is ‘one of the smartest times of the year to travel’ because of the decent weather and prices.

She said: ‘With milder temperatures and lower prices than peak summer, it’s the perfect moment for a memorable, and affordable, getaway.

‘Our analysis highlights where families are most likely to find the most reliable and enjoyable weather for an Easter getaway, from Turkey’s pleasantly warm and calm conditions to Greece’s sun soaked beaches.

‘Whether families are seeking gentle warmth, guaranteed sunshine, or just anything but rain, there are plenty of options to make a 2026 Easter holiday both relaxing and memorable.’
