The UK beach home to a huge FREE playpark – and loved by the Royal Family

It’s often the dream to live like a royal – and your kids actually can, absolutely free of charge!

Situated in King Charles III’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk – used by the Royal Family as a holiday home for the last 150 years – is a huge Woodland Playground.

Despite being free to access, there’s so much for kids to enjoy.

The playground has big, castle-like, wooden play forts, slides, and obstacle courses with zip lines, suitable for children aged five to 12 years old.

There’s even a giant sand pit for the little ones to muck around in.

But the best part? It’s completely free!

To access this playground, as well as the estate’s sprawling 20,000 acres, all you need to pay for is the car park.

And there’s more to Sandringham than just the playground.

Nearby, Holkham, a beach loved by the Royal Family,  is ‘the most spectacular and epic beach you’re ever likely to see’

As well as free bike rides and woodland walks, history buffs can pay to explore the Royal house and gardens on selected dates throughout the year.

Dianne Bourne, who holdays in the area with her family, told Manchester Evening News: ‘Sandringham made for a great day out during our stay, with the kids running off lots of energy in the Woodland Playground, and then a lovely stop off at the Sandringham coffee shop for snacks and ice cream.’

In North Norfolk, where Sandringham is situated, there are so many beautiful beaches for the family to enjoy too.

Dianne says she loves Hunstanton ‘as the more traditional seaside resort with funfair, chippies and ice cream, while neighbouring Old Hunstanton has a stunning stretch of sand and lots of starfish and crabs to find in the sea’.

But it’s Holkham, a beach loved by the Royal Family, that she says is ‘the most spectacular and epic beach you’re ever likely to see’.

However, she notes there’s a long walk down to the beach to get there.
