
Welcoming and helpful staff, as well as the airport’s facilities and atmosphere, are all important factors to consider when travelling.
And new research has looked into the 120 busiest airports across the globe to see which one came out top for being friendly.
Now, the friendliest of them all has been revealed and a UK hub managed to bag second place.
Over 71,000 Google reviews were analysed and words like ‘friendly’, ‘helpful’ and ‘polite’ were specifically looked for.
The hub with the most reviews mentioning friendly workers proved to be Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Coming top, some 73.6 per cent of the airport’s ratings were about its kind staff, according to Airport Parking & Hotels.
The airport jets off to 101 destinations around the world, including Dallas, Seoul and Abu Dhabi from Taipei.
It has some raving reviews from pleased passengers – 129 mention staff being ‘friendly,’ 106 describe them as ‘helpful’ while 42 say they are ‘efficient’.

Cornwall Airport Newquay came second and followed closely with an impressive 73.3 per cent of reviews mentioning friendly workers.
In the summer of 2024, the hub saw 160,000 passengers pass through and many seemed to be pleased with the welcoming service.
Meanwhile, Narita International Airport in Japan came third with 73.1 per cent positive reviews.
The airport boasts a range of restaurants, beauty salons and lounges making it an appealing place to stop by when travelling.
In fourth place was another UK hub – Southampton Airport – which has 70.9 per cent positive ratings.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, in Arizona, came fifth, with 70.4 per cent of its reviews describing friendly staff.
Several other UK hubs made the top 20, including London City airport in 13th place, Exeter Airport in joint 15th, Humberside Airport in 18th and Cardiff Airport in 19th.

Elsewhere, almost half of the top 20 were made up of North American airports, making it the best destination for friendly hubs.
Eight of those were in the United States including Arizona, Minnesota, Virginia and Utah.
It comes after Rome Fiumicino was revealed to be the best airport in Europe last month.
The latest ACI EUROPE Best Airport Awards, which honour airports pushing boundaries across the continent, once again recognised Rome Fiumicino for its impressive commitment to passenger experience, sustainability and innovation.
