Uber is launching Uber Aurora, bringing Northern Lights-viewing rides to the Uber app for the first time.
The rides will be available on the weekend of the spring equinox, a time of peak aurora activity, on March 20 and 21 in Rovaniemi, Lapland.
Uber Aurora offers users rides designed to help capture the magic of the Northern Lights, easily organised from your phone.
It has been launched in Finland at one of the best times of year to see the Northern Lights.
Following the current peak in solar activity, 2026 is expected to offer especially good viewing conditions.
The Northern Lights are one of the Arctic’s most iconic and magical natural phenomena, drawing visitors from around the world to Lapland each year.
With Uber Aurora, Uber aims to make this sought-after experience more accessible by offering an easy, on-demand way to take part in aurora viewing through the app.
Each booking includes pick-up and drop-off and six to eight hours of guided aurora-viewing, led by local experts from the experience provider Arctic GM.
