Though most people use it to shield their hair whilst having a wash, there are plenty of other ways to use a shower cap, Reader’s Digest reports.
Parents with youngsters might find it handy to help keep craft activities tidier.
A shower cap can be used to line paint trays and bowls and saves having to wash up or wipe afterwards as it can easily be disposed of.
Another handy way to stay clean with a shower cap is using it to wrap up shoes before packing them in luggage.

Baking blogger Melissa Fallon told Reader’s Digest how the tiny item can be used to cover bread dough when proofing.
‘A warm, moist environment is needed for bread to rise, and shower caps can help lock that in,’ she said.

However, be careful not to let the cap touch the food, just to be safe.
‘Most plastic shower caps are not food-grade, so they shouldn’t directly touch the food,’ Melissa added.
Another unconventional hack for making the most out of a new, unused shower cap is using it to cover leftover food.
It can easily be stretched over a bowl of salad that might last another day if it is covered correctly in the fridge.
