Wizz Air launches new routes from London to six destinations – including Asian country with hardly any tourists

Wizz Air has announced six new routes from London to various destinations including one Asian country that has barely any tourists.

The budget airline has acquired space at London Luton Airport and is set to bring an Airbus A321 neo aircraft to the hub.

With a new total of 15 planes at the busy airport, the carrier has revealed it will be bringing in routes to six new destinations

From summer 2026, holidaymakers will be able to jet off to Yerevan, Alicante, Lyon, Corfu, Faro and Turin with Wizz Air.

The capital of Armenia, Yerevan, is a ‘previously unserved route’ according to the airline, which will be providing direct flights to the destination.

From June 12, Wizz Air will be flying twice a week to the Asian destination and tickets are priced from £36.99.

Yerevan saw 2.2 million tourists in 2024, slightly lower than the 2.33 million in 2023, and has experienced steady overall growth since the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Corfu will be Wizz Air’s fifth Greek island destination, joining Chania, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.

Five Alicante flights a week will kick off on June 12 with prices starting at £17.99.

Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, described the additional destinations as ‘exciting’.

She stated: ‘This announcement underlines our continued commitment to London Luton Airport and the wider UK market.

‘Securing additional slots at Luton strengthens our competitive position in the London market.
