8 Travel Hacks to Help You Survive Your Next Vacation!

Whether you’re a vacational tourist or a full-time travel blogger, there are similar problems you’ll encounter whilst traveling that these hacks will help you avoid!

1. Pack intelligently.
Pack essentials like medicine, toiletries, electronics, and underwear in your carry-on luggage and the rest in your suitcase. This way if your suitcase gets lost you’ll still be able to survive.

2. Separate your cash and cards and make sure you have backup cards.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Separate your cash and cards into two different locations, for example, your wallet in your pocket and some stowaway in your bag, this way if you lose one or it gets stolen you won’t find yourself penniless in a foreign country.

3. Take A Business Card From Your Hotel.
When you reach your hotel make sure to get a business card and write your room number on it, this way after going out and about you won’t forget your room number and will also be able to show the card to ask for directions or show your taxi driver where you want to go.

3. Get a sarong or a Shemagh.- –
This is a lightweight cotton cloth that won’t take up much space but is incredibly versatile.
You can use it for dust and sun protection, a bandage, arm sling, pillow, bag, towel, rope or just to keep you warm. It’s a handy piece of kit and takes up very little space. You can pick up a very good quality one by Mora fairly cheaply on Amazon.

4. Share your luggage.
If you’re traveling with your partner or someone else, pack half your clothes and underwear in each other’s suitcases, this way if one case gets lost, you’ll both still have some clothes to wear.

5. Tell someone your plans.
Always let someone you know and trust at home know where you plan to go and for how long as well as any excursions you may be planning.

6. Pack a small first aid kit.
Medicine may not be available or may be difficult to get when you’re traveling, especially if you are feeling ill. Make sure you pack a little first aid kit with paracetamol, cough sweets, ibuprofen, anti-acids, activated charcoal tablets, band-aids, and bandages, you never know when you might need them.

7. Respect local Traditions.
Remember, the locals are living their normal everyday lives, their customs have been done for generations and aren’t strange, you, are the stranger! so don’t judge them, embrace them, and just try to keep an open mind.

8. Tell your bank and credit card company where you’re going.
Yes, it may seem like none of their business, and it isn’t, but this way they won’t think it strange when someone in Marrakesh is withdrawing money from your account, and having your card blocked is something you don’t want to have to be dealing with from a foreign country.
