Greggs is set to launch ‘Bitesize’ stores at UK train stations – and the first one has already opened.
The popular bakery’s latest venture is a fleet of small stores that stock their best-selling pastries and treats.
Based in travel hubs, the compact stores will target the high-footfall of locations like busy train stations.
The very first opened at Sevenoaks Railway Station last week and a ‘small number’ are set to be rolled out on a trial basis.
It created 10 new jobs for the local area and is open seven days a week.
The menu features beloved items including Sausage Rolls and Steak Bakes to Sweet Treats and Fairtrade hot drinks.
Further Bitesize shops will launch at Dartford Station, Kent and Cheshire Oaks in December.
More traditional stores will be opening too and Greggs is set to open around 120 new shops overall this year.

This works out to around four new stores each week across the country.
The company will ‘assess consumer behaviour and operational efficiencies’ in the new Bitesize stores initially to see how they are received by customers.
Property Director, Tony Rowson, commented: ‘We’re excited to announce the launch of our “Bitesize Greggs” concept.
‘This small but mighty new format will allow us to reach more customers on the go from compact units, whilst still offering a selection of our best-selling products.
‘The rollout of “Bitesize Greggs”, initially on a trial basis, will support our broader estate growth plans.’
Greggs ventured into the pub industry earlier this year and opened its first-ever free house.
The Golden Flake Tavern opened in the Fenwick Newcastle department store and will run until February 15, 2026.
Two exclusive beers on draught – the Pink Jammie Pale Ale and the Gosforth 1939 Stottie Lager – have both been developed in partnership with the Newcastle-based Full Circle Brew Co.

The fully-stocked bar also features a Greggs-inspired cocktail menu.
Diners can choose from a menu of 15 Greggs-inspired traditional pub dishes, including chicken bake Parmo, steak bake mixed grill, sausage roll & mash and a Greggs ploughman’s platter.
The dessert menu features yum yum bread & butter pudding and pink jammie trifle, a dish of doughnut pieces set in jelly, topped with jam, custard and whipped cream.
The traditional Sunday carvery – which the pub describes as its ‘piece de resistance’ – will be a choice of steak bake, chicken bake or cheese & onion bake as the centrepiece of the roast, with trimmings including cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
