Are you tired of toting your toddler during travel? Tips to make toddler travel easier on your back.

Tired of toting your toddler during travel? Tips to make toddler travel easier on your back.

1. Hip Seat
BabyMust
Pros – Fastest to use and put baby in & out of and fairly small.

Cons – Not hands free.  No strap on baby at all, just gives you a little support.

Recommendations: Only use to support over short distances, in tight spaces, or when transitions need to be fast.  I used this to bring her from the car into the circus and bringing her through airport security.

2. Traditional Carrier
Infantino
Pros – Handsfree use, works in cramped spaces, and takes up minimal packing space.

Cons – You can’t see baby and though not impossible, it is difficult to get baby into without assistance. It also takes time to get baby in and out.

Recommendations: This is great for sightseeing!  Baby is up higher and able to see things.  It also is the best option for uneven terrain or dealing with stairs.  We love this for visiting zoos, aquariums, and museums.

3. Umbrella Stroller
Disney style?
Pros -Fairly compact with quick set up.

Cons – Front wheels often get askew and make it hard to push.  The handles are also low which can cause issues if you are tall. Now, baby is tall enough that she reaches down and tries to grab the wheels while strolling. No bueno.

Recommendations: We use this one when our vehicle is too full to bring a traditional stroller, but we are phasing this out in favor of the ultra compact travel stroller.

4. Ultra Compact Travel Stroller
This is our newest acquisition, Pockit+ All-Terrain.
Pros – Very maneuverable and says it fits under seat on planes, though we have yet to test this. Highest handles, so best for tall pushers.

Cons – Takes the most time to set up and store.

Recommendations: We’re excited to use this for upcoming travels where we will be short on space!

5. Traditional Stroller
Graco Click to Connect
Pros – Most storage and most comfortable ride.  Also has parent cup holders and peekaboo flap on shade visor. Set up is fairly quick & easy.

Cons – Not for cramped spaces and takes up most storage space.

Recommendations: Best if there is space. Most comfortable with best accessories.
