Bah humbug! These terrible attempts at makeshift Christmas decorations leave festive cheer at the door

Tinsel, baubles and festive furnishings are all around with only days to go until Christmas – but some decorating attempts are more festive than others.

People from around the world have shared their chaotic Yuletide decor, which Bored Panda has collated into an online gallery.

One brave attempt from Spain saw an aspiring creative shape of a tree out of tangled fairy lights which were stuck to a wall.

Elsewhere, someone hoping to jazz up their room decorated a tiny ‘Black Ice’ air freshener with some fairy lights.

And nothing says Christmas like kitchen utensils – with someone in Croatia deciding to make a tree out of a pile of pots and pans.

Meanwhile, one Scrooge decided to simply draw a tree on a notebook and lean it against their wall

This person’s attempt at a tree using only artificial pine garland worked out to be disappointing at best – as they jokingly captioned the photo ‘Felez Neveded’, a play on ‘Feliz Navidad’ in Spanish

One person brought Christmas cheer to the street, decorating a traffic cone with fairy lights and a twig

Opting for a more abstract look, one decorating hopeful used an artificial green pine garland which was decorated with colourful paper

Another DIY enthusiast tried making a Christmas tree out of colourful fairy lights – but forgot to make sure all the lights were working

No tree? No fear! This person stuck some leaves onto a wall with tape – and attached a golden bauble for festive flair

Making the most of what they’ve got, one person who’s clearly behind on their laundry decided to use a pile of clothes for decoration
