Britain’s biggest goth loves living in her spooky house complete with a coffin table, coffin-inspired bed and gravestones in the garden.

Cinzia Bacilieri, from York, decorated her home to make it black and spooky and tailored each room in her house to fit her grungy theme.

The university lecturer’s home is made up of a witch-inspired kitchen, a vampire-themed bathroom, a catacomb downstairs bathroom, and a graveyard-style living room complete with coffin table, as opposed to a coffee table.

She said: ‘As soon as I moved in, I picked my colour scheme of black, white and grey. I always knew I wanted to go with this aesthetic because I have had a gothic style since my early teens.

She said: ‘Being Italian, I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, so I’d have to say it’s one of my favourite rooms in the house. I chose a witch theme for the kitchen because I thought it was very fitting, as witches make potions

‘Each room has a specific theme and I have paid close attention to detail in all aspects of the decor. My bedroom is totally black too, and I have a custom-made four-poster bed that is coffin inspired and has bats and spiders engraved into the wood.

‘Living in the UK makes it a lot easier to find decorations that fit my theme. There are so many companies that customise furniture.

‘For example, in my living room, I have a coffin table rather than a coffee table. Halloween is an amazing time of year for me to pick up pieces for my house.. There’s always so much choice.’

She said: ‘I chose a Beetlejuice theme for my garden. I have a black and white striped shed, custom-made coffin-shaped flower beds, and a skeleton that sits on a bench.

‘My friends love the theme of my house. They come in for tours and enjoy seeing all the little details in each room. My family would be very surprised if my home didn’t look like this because they all know this is my aesthetic.

‘It was amazing to go from a rented property, where I couldn’t have it exactly how I wanted, to finally being able to decorate my own exactly to my taste.’
