He said he wanted to walk between two hot air balloons because he wanted to experience the sensation of floating and freedom.

Rafael added: ‘I am a person driven by challenges.

‘I like complex projects, which involve many people and as a consequence incalculable elements like weather and weather conditions.

‘I like records that are hard to beat. A small mistake could have caused a catastrophe. My attention is fully focused on ensuring that all procedures are followed in detail.

‘So everyone is calm and confident and after this successful stage comes to the indescribable pleasure and contemplation of walking on clouds hundreds of meters high.

Rafael says that he was in such a state of concentration while making the crossing that can’t even remember what was going through his head as he made his way through the sky

‘It involved many years of dedication to the sport and especially to safety. I don’t give up anything on safety.

‘I always have the best equipment, the best team and the most up-to-date knowledge.

‘It was a total serendipity moment where everything lined up amazingly.

‘To make it happen and find my perfect balance at the time of the crossing, I really value each one of the team. I approach, clear any doubts so that everything can flow in an incredible way as it happened with this project.’

He said: ‘I like records that are hard to beat. A small mistake could have caused a catastrophe. My attention is fully focused on ensuring that all procedures are followed in detail’

The adrenaline junkie added: ‘The feeling of floating and freedom has always been one of the biggest motivations for my highline practice’

He added: ‘It’s amazing and shows how present I was at that moment.

‘But I remember seeing my friends smile after I made the crossing without falling and I remember their nervous face the moment I sat on the slackline outside the balloon for the first time.

‘I have a bank of projects that I grow to carry out during my career as a professional athlete and this was one of them.

‘The feeling of floating and freedom has always been one of the biggest motivations for my highline practice and nothing can bring this sensation so vividly as a crossing between balloons where both points are in constant motion.

‘It is critical that we humans continue to dream of the best possible personal achievements.’
