A Delta pilot has gone viral after he delivered a wild speech detailing the incredibly strict ‘rules’ that he requires passengers to follow during a flight – while referring to himself as a ‘servant leader.’
The man, whose identity is not known, sparked fierce backlash after a video of him sharing the vast list of regulations that he ‘needed everyone’ on the aircraft ‘to obey’ surfaced on Instagram.
In the clip, the pilot could be seen relaying his orders to the travelers over the plane’s intercom system.
He began by describing himself as the ‘servant leader’ and ‘the captain of the ship.’

His commands involved ‘obeying’ the seatbelt signs, listening to flight attendants, and being kind to other passengers
He explained that meant he would be ‘responsible’ for everyone’s ‘safety’ – and ‘above all,’ making sure that people on board followed the ‘rules.’
‘Everyone please look up here at your servant leader,’ he said. ‘Today I get to serve as the captain of the ship.
‘What does that mean? It means I’m responsible for the safety of my ship, my crew, my passengers, my cargo, but above all, the rules.’
The man then began to list the commands – which involved ‘obeying’ the seatbelt signs, listening to flight attendants, and being kind to other passengers.
‘I need everyone to obey the seatbelt sign during the flight for your safety and the safety of everyone around you,’ he continued.
‘I need everyone to obey the commands and the instructions of my flight attendants. And lastly, I ask that we all be respectful of one another.’
He concluded with, ‘Are there any questions?’
It seemed the plane was heading to Atlanta and had suffered from a delay, but it’s unclear where it was taking off from.
A travel blogger named Jay Robert uploaded the video to his Instagram account this week, where it quickly went viral, but it’s not known who originally filmed it.

‘I wonder if this Delta captain is ex military?’ he captioned it, adding, ‘[Credit] unknown.’

‘Yikes. Unnecessary and narcissistic,’ one person wrote. Another added, ‘Total cringe. I bet he’s fun at parties.’
‘This captain abused his power. He treated passengers like kindergarteners. Oh and “my fly attendants” – oh dear, you have some arrogance issues,’ scathed someone else.
‘Please stop being a total control freak, and just fly the plane. Have a little faith in your flight attendants,’ read a fourth comment.
A fifth simply said, ‘This irks my soul.’
Others, however, had the man’s back and defended him against the haters.
‘I love this Captain. As a former Delta flight attendant, I loved that we had so many pilots that came out of the US Air Force,’ one person explained.
‘They may not have the best bedside manner, but they are qualified.’
‘Have you seen the way some passengers treat the flight crew these days? I don’t mind a strong warning if it’ll keep the peace and have no shenanigans on board,’ agreed someone else.
A different user commented, ‘I wish that the airline captains did this more often. It IS necessary, especially in this day and age.’
‘Well said Captain,’ praised another person. ‘Zero nonsense on his flight. Tired of all these Karen, Becky and Ken fighting inside the airplane.’
