Taking to Reddit, the traveler uploaded a photo showing their broken TVTo make matters worse, the disgruntled passenger didn’t even get an upgrade Many commenters advised the passenger to file a complaint about the incident
An airline passenger has vented their frustration after enduring a nine-hour Delta flight with no functioning TV, with commenters stating in response that the ‘rawdogging trend has gone too far.’
The travel phenomenon known as ‘rawdogging’ – which means consuming no form of entertainment during a flight except for the basic maps or data shown on the seatback screen – recently took flight, but this passenger clearly was not on board with the trend.
Taking to Reddit to voice their dissatisfaction, the traveler uploaded a photo showing their broken seatback screen, with other rows in front of them also experiencing the same issue.
In the post, they revealed: ‘Us and the five rows in front of us have no entertainment system or charging for that matter (luckily I topped off my phone battery but others that haven’t been to this country are panicked) for a nine-hour international flight.’
To make matters worse, the disgruntled passenger said Delta upgraded people who were waiting to fly on standby to comfort plus, and they received no upgrade despite being ‘first on the upgrade list with my Medallion status.’

They quizzed Redditors: ‘Is it wrong for me to ask for extra Medallion points or miles in general? I just feel like I’ve kind of been shafted and am curious if I’m being extra or not.’
The post quickly garnered dozens of comments, with many advising the passenger to file a complaint about the incident.
One Redditor wrote: ‘Delta is a company not your friend… If you’re inconvenienced in some way there’s no reason to not shoot a message to try for points.
‘I got 5,000 points for the display not working on a 2.5 hour flight I think.’
Echoing similar sentiments, another Redditor revealed: ‘I had the same thing happen recently. I complained via the online system and they gave me 3,000 miles.
‘At least it’s something. What was interesting is someone actually called to tell me.’
Some commenters joked that the poster had been forced into ‘involuntary rawdogging,’ while others criticized them for not having a backup source of entertainment.
One person wrote: ‘Things break and issues arise, it’s just life especially how much we depend on technology now.

‘Absolutely [the original poster] should ask for some money or miles back but if you don’t fly with plan B and plan C, that’s on you.
‘Always have a book or stuff on the phone ready to go. Even if it’s stuff you already seen at least you have something.
‘I travel for work a lot and though it’s a lot of weight I always have my work laptop, steam deck, phone, and power brick.
‘You just see it all when you travel often and I’d like to be prepared.’
In response to the suggestion of issuing a complaint, the original poster said they were hesitant because of previous experiences with the airline’s customer service.
They explained: ‘My fear is I’ve sent complaints before and they just say “we appreciate your feedback” and nothing else happens.’
They also noted that the flight attendants attempted to remedy the problem by resetting the screens but it was ‘to no avail.’
Acknowledging that it wasn’t the flight attendants’ fault, they added: ‘I’ve worked service so I get it, just frustrated with Delta, not the attendants.’
DailyMail.com has contacted Delta for comment on the incident.
