Lots of people visit Mexico City and many of them make it a point to visit the famous Frida Khalo Museum, I mean of course! She’s an artistic and historical icon in Mexico and very culturally important. But when I ask those same people how they enjoyed Coyoacan, they look at me like this: (blank stare – crickets).
I’m shocked at how many people go straight to the museum and then leave the neighborhood and MISS OUT on the charm of Coyoacan! So today’s Mexico City travel guide episode #2 is to make sure you DON’T miss out on our favorite part of Mexico City!
Coyoacan is known for its rich history, vibrant culture and artistic legacy. We actually live a few blocks from here, and we hang out here a lot, so we’ll be showing what we love about Coyoacan including some hidden gems that lots of people miss even if they do visit the neighborhood.

Coyoacan is a captivating neighborhood nestled within the bustling metropolis of Mexico City. Coyoacán attracts travelers with its charming cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and lively plazas.
Many of you know that Mexico has pueblos magicos. Well mexico city is so big that we like to call this place a “barrio magico of Mexico city”.
