Exclusive for MoS readers: Explore the Cotswolds with TV’s Adam Henson

Exclusive for Mail on Sunday readers: Explore the Cotswolds with TV’s Adam Henson – have lunch with the farmer star of the BBC’s Countryfile and see six fantastic gardens

There are few places more quintessentially English than the honey-coloured stone villages and buzzing market towns of the Cotswolds.

You’ll explore some of the area’s stunning gardens on this fantastic six-day tour and enjoy some unforgettable experiences.

During your trip, you will be in the company of Adam Henson, who regularly presents his Adam’s Farm segment of the BBC’s Countryfile from his Cotswold Farm Park.

Down on the farm: Countryfile presenter Adam Henson with some of his trusty companions at his Cotswolds home

Adam will join you for a private lunch, as well as giving you an exclusive talk on his career and the history and conservation work that takes place at the farm.

You will stay on the edge of the Cotswolds in the glorious town of Cheltenham, from where you will visit the colourful gardens of Painswick Rococo Garden, Westonbirt National Arboretum and Rodmarton Manor. At the Lygon Arms Hotel in Broadway, you’ll savour a traditional cream tea and you’ll also take trips to Hidcote gardens, Whichford Pottery in Shipston-on-Stour, and Daylesford Organic Farm, which has been farming sustainably for more than 40 years.

Adam Henson is possibly our best-known farmer, often presenting Countryfile from his Cotswold Farm Park. Adam took over from his father in 1999 and the farm now welcomes more than 100,000 visitors a year. He grows wheat, spring barley and oilseed rape, and has a flock of 400 commercial ewes, over 50 breeding flocks and herds of British rare breeds.

Meet Adam Henson: Adam will welcome you to Cotswold Farm Park, which has been in his family for almost 60 years and has the UK’s leading collection of rare breed animals. He will deliver a talk about his life of combining farming with presenting Countryfile.

Join Adam for lunch: While you’re at the farm, you will enjoy a delicious private lunch with Adam in the wonderful setting before you have the chance to explore for yourself.

Guided tour of Rodmarton Manor: One of the last country houses to be built and furnished by local craftsmen using local stone and timber, Rodmarton Manor is set in an eight-acre garden that was designed as a series of outdoor rooms. You’ll take a tour of the estate as well as settling down for lunch.

See potters in action: During your visit to Whichford Pottery, world-famous for its award-winning flowerpots, you’ll have a chance to see the hand-throwing and hand-pressing methods loved by gardeners all over the globe.

Painswick Rococo Garden is the only surviving garden of its kind in the UK and you’ll escape back to the early 1700s during a private tour

Explore the finest gardens: A Cotswolds must-see, the colourful Arts and Crafts garden at Hidcote was created by Major Lawrence Johnston and features wonderful secret gardens connected by a maze of narrow paved pathways. Meanwhile, Painswick Rococo Garden is the only surviving garden of its kind in the UK and you’ll escape back to the early 1700s during a private tour.

Visit Daylesford Organic Farm: You’ll be familiar with the produce from Daylesford Organic Farm from your supermarket shelves and you’ll have a chance to go behind the scenes at this award-winning site. A pioneer in the organic farming movement, Daylesford remains one of the most sustainable farms in the country.
