Flight attendant issues stark warning to plane passengers who drink at the airport before boarding

A flight attendant has issued a stark warning to plane passengers who have a penchant for pre-travel drinks at the airport prior to boarding the plane.

The staffer, who works with a major US airline issued a plea on TikTok to those who might be tempted to enjoy a drink too many in the terminal.

‘This is a PSA to everyone who likes to drink at the airport,’ she began.

‘Please just don’t make it noticeable when you get on the plane. I don’t want to kick you off. You don’t want to be embarrassed. You don’t want to miss your flight.

‘It’s a win win for both of us,’ the frequent flyer implored.

‘Don’t make it obvious. Don’t be stupid,’ she lectured. ‘If you can’t handle your alcohol, like figure it out.

‘Don’t get drunk, because we’re legally required to kick you off the airplane if you appear to be intoxicated.

‘It’s not me, just like being a buzzkill. Okay?’ she concluded.

It’s an international industry norm to not allow visibly intoxicated passengers to board airplanes.

And the US Federal Aviation Regulations specify that airlines may not ‘allow any person to board any of its aircraft if that person appears to be intoxicated.’

Intoxicated passengers who cause enough of a disruption while on board a flight can face consequences from fines to being banned from flying on board the given airline going forward.

It’s also important to keep in mind that higher altitudes can increase the effects of alcohol intoxication.

Dozens took to the comments of the TikTok with some making light of airport drinking, while others shared cautionary tales

Beyond that, drunk passengers have been known to harass or even assault cabin crew, and could pose an added danger to themselves and others in the event of an emergency.

Dozens took to the comments of the TikTok with some making light of airport drinking, while others shared cautionary tales.

‘Imagine how drunk you have to be that they’re like “you’re too drunk to sit in a seat,”‘ one mused.

‘I literally bring my to-go cup filled with wine from the lounge on board lol,’ another admitted of indulging.

‘5.30am they had to carry a drunk as f**k lady off the plane the other day while I was waiting for my flight – big yikes,’ a third chimed in.

‘I had to help a woman get onto her flight once. She was hammered at the bar. She made the flight,’ a fourth offered.

In any case, the warning isn’t coming out the blue given the innumerable reports of drunk and belligerent travelers, many even making the headlines.

Earlier this spring, DailyMail.com reported on a woman who had a drunken meltdown in the terminal at Dallas-Fort Worth after she was prohibited from boarding her flight to Colombia due to being visibly intoxicated.

She also allegedly assaulted at least one airline employee during the episode.

Before being removed from the airport, she verbally harassed police officers and peed herself before being loaded into a police car.

And in May, a wasted Manchester fan was escorted off his flight, as other passengers cheered his removal.
