A passenger has shared a story after being ‘duped’ into giving up her seat for a woman who pretended to be injured, only to find she was totally fine.
‘Call me a sucker. You are so right. Here is what happened,’ the irate passenger began the post to the Delta subreddit.
The unnamed woman explained that as they boarded the Delta flight and made her way to her seat in coach – where she was sitting in the aisle.
‘The window seat, to their right, was occupied by a man and the middle seat was empty,’ she explained. ‘I had the aisle seat (the seat I like).’

After settling in, an apparently injured woman came up with a sling on her left arm.
‘She is wincing, acting like she is in terrible pain,’ the Reddit poster explained.
‘She stops at my row, tells me she has the middle seat, and asks if I will swap with her so she will have more room for her hurt arm,’ she recalled.
Although irritated, the sympathetic flyer ‘ inwardly’ groaned and agreed to move, switching seats to the middle.
However, she was horrified to find she had been trickled by the woman, who was apparently pretending to be injured.
‘We take off and the next thing I know, she has taken off her sling, has a smile on her face, and is moving her arm freely,’ she recalled in disbelief.
The journey only got worse from there, with the passengers either side of the Reddit user apparently in cahoots with each other.
‘Then, she starts talking to the man at the window next to me who turns out to be her companion!!!’ she exclaimed in disbelief.
Reddit users were in disbelief over the post, many suggesting ways to make the woman move back to her assigned seat
‘They spend the rest of the flight talking across me and passing things back and forth over me,’ she continued.
‘Tell me, have any of you ever been so badly duped on an airplane or do I get the prize?’ the Reddit user concluded the unbelievable trip.
Other users were in disbelief over the post, many suggesting ways to make the woman move back to her assigned seat.
‘That’s when you get a flight attendant and show them your ticket and say “They’re in my seat,”‘ one user suggested.
‘Jail!! I would have considered saying you know what I changed my mind. We can swap back or I can get the flight attendant to move you if you’d like,’ added another.
Another replied simply with: ‘nope.’
‘My response will always be “I paid for this seat im not too interested in giving it up,”‘ a user wrote.
