MEMPHIS – Jan. 8 marks what would have been Elvis Presley’s 87th birthday. The late “King of Rock and Roll” was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1935. He died in 1977 at age 42.

Each year, faithful fans gather at his estate to celebrate his life. As is custom, Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises will commemorate his birthday with several days of events, reflections and concerts in Memphis, Tennessee.

Here are five ways for fans to join in on the various festivities. Some events are free while others have fees. Tickets can be purchased and details can be found at Graceland.com.

Thursday

Elvis birthday bash & evening Graceland mansion tours 

5 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Graceland and Elvis Presley’s Memphis Entertainment Complex

Graceland will host a special guided evening tour starting at 5 p.m. at the mansion house. Fans will also be able to view the exhibits at Elvis Presley’s Memphis (Car Museum, Presley Cycles, Archives Exhibit, Army Exhibit, ICONS Exhibit and Elvis: The Entertainer). At 6 p.m. a birthday party will commence featuring an Elvis dance party hosted…
