I stayed in a $32,000-a-night suite on the world’s most expensive train to find out if it was worth it

When it comes to a train ride to remember, this surely has to be it.

YouTube creator and entrepreneur Ryan Trahan, from Texas, traveled on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express while he was in Europe, and for one of the legs, he upgraded to the train’s most luxurious cabin.

The Grand Suite on the historic train costs upwards of $32,000 a night from Paris to Venice (the leg Ryan took) for a single occupancy.

And in a video documenting his regal rail voyage, Ryan reveals some of the perks of ‘the most expensive train seat in the entire world.’

Upon walking into the private wood-paneled room, the 24-year-old creator shows off how it includes a spacious living area, complete with a couch and dining table.

Moving through to the sleeping area, the room has a double bed, which cleverly lifts up to provide storage space for luggage.

Topping things off, there is a marble-clad bathroom, with a shower, a frosted window for privacy, a glass wash basin and an old-school toilet.

Another feature Ryan appears taken with is the ‘grand’ carved woodwork, which adorns the headboard of the bed.

During his train journey, Ryan leaves his Grand Suite to dine in the restaurant carriage.

He captures a number of ‘fancy’ dishes, including an artfully arranged plate of smoked salmon, and he notes that they all ‘taste great.’

As part of the personalized service, when he returns to his cabin in the evening he finds a chocolate dessert with a message piped on the top.

However, he accidentally spills the sweet treat, and then ventures to the bar carriage for a nightcap.

He says that ‘everybody is dressed super fancy’ as he puts in an order for a Shirley Temple and he compliments the pianist.

During his journey from Paris to Venice, Ryan notes that he passed through five countries – including France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy

The next morning, Ryan is served breakfast in his suite before arriving in Venice where he meets his father.

To date, Ryan’s YouTube documenting his luxury train journey has been watched more than 5.7 million times.

Many viewers have applauded him for vacationing him with his dad.

One commenter wrote: ‘I actually love these videos with your dad, so wholesome.

‘Keep making these types of videos.’

Another view commended Ryan’s down-to-earth attitude, musing: ‘Love how he just talks about how it’s a dream come true and how grateful he is.’
