Inside five studio flats for sale online… ranging in price from £23k to £3m

A total of 2,799 studios are currently for sale online in Britain, according to the latest statistics.

The flats vary in size and price, but all share a common feature – and that is they typically have only one room where the living area, dining area and bedroom are combined.

The price of the studios for sale on Zoopla range in price from the cheapest one in North Yorkshire’s Dewsbury with a price tag of £23,000 to the most expensive one in London’s Knightsbridge costing an eye-watering £3million.

We reveal what the most expensive and the cheapest studios look like inside and pick some other versions for sale around the country that have a price tag that sits inbetween those two price extremes.

Of course, some studios can be expensive to run, depending on their location and maintenance charges. As most studios will be leasehold, buyers need to check – and factor into their budgets – the service charges and ground rent clauses, along with the time remaining on the lease.

Lenders do not typically lend on leases that have 70 years or less as this is deemed too high a risk for them.

Daniel Copley, of Zoopla, said: ‘There are currently a wide range of studios for sale in the UK – with everything on offer from doer-uppers to luxury studios in Central London. If you do decide to invest, there’s also plenty you can do to maximise your space – be it investing in smart storage, or using mirrors to make the property feel more spacious.’
