INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL TIPS (in no specific order)

1. Have a valid passport. Some countries will deny you entry if your passport expires in less than 6 months.

2. When checking into a hotel, take a hotel business card. If you ever get lost or need a ride back, you have the hotel number and address (in the local language).

3. Make sure you set up travel notifications with your debit/credit cards.

4. Make sure to take any medicines (prescription medication, but also over-the-counter medicine). The last thing you want to do is hope to find a pharmacy open 24 hours in a foreign country.

5. Make two (color) photocopies of your passport, debit/credit cards (front and back), license, and any other ID or important documents. Leave one set of copies home and take the other set of copies with you.

6. Bring a charger adapter because different countries have different size plugs and voltage.

7. Activate your cellphone’s global capability (cellular rates may apply), and use local wifi to your advantage.

8. Have some foreign currency cash with you before you leave for that country. Not all places accept credit cards.

9. Bring a common phrase book for the local language. Not everyone speaks English.
