Today we are out exploring one of Croatia’s most beautiful regions, Istria!
Istria is located in the north of Croatia and is known for its stunning coastline and quaint hill towns.
The first stop on our mini road trip is the city of Pula. Pula is best known for its Arena, which is one of the most well preserved amphitheater’s in the world. We also enjoyed walking through the old town/Roman Forum and seeing the Temple of Augustus.
We then headed to Istria’s gem, Rovinj. Rovinj is technically in Croatia but it felt like we were back in Italy! Rovinj used to be ruled by the Republic of Venice and the Italian influence is all over. There is even a direct ferry that will take you from Rovinj to Venice. A few things to enjoy while in Rovinj are strolling along the harbor, take in the views from the cathedral, explore the old town, and shop the farmer’s market.
Our last stop along the coastline was the city of Porec. Porec is where we stayed for the weekend as we explored the coastline and hill towns. We mainly spent our time here relaxing by the beach.
