Look beyond the bright lights and discover what else Macao has to offer visitors. It is well known for its nightlife and casinos but Macao also has a fascinating history, rich Chinese/Portuguese cultural tapestry, amazing dining options as well as the slower pace, traditional appeal of neighbouring Coloane and Taipa. Cathy spent a week there and shares her experience. The tourist board now use the Portuguese spelling of Macao but you will often also see it written as Macau.
