Next time hire a professional! These bizarre design fails will leave you baffled

It’s always much easier to critique someone else’s work and say what you would have done better than it is to start a project from scratch.

But when looking at some of these bizarre designs fails from around the world, collated into a gallery by Bored Panda, it’s hard to imagine doing a much worse job.

Some of the choices that were made when these designs were being put together will leave you scratching your head.

For example, there is a slide in a child’s play park that splits into three, which is surely just waiting to cause someone an injury.

Or what about the sustainably-powered parking metre in an underground garage – which just happens to run off sunlight.

Just how could you beat this metal, locked gate? Scale it? Use metal cutters to destroy the integrity of the lock? Or maybe…just walk round the side

Then there was a gate a bottom of a set of stairs – but no connecting fence, meaning any intruder can just easily walk around it.

Meanwhile, a bizarre slide that splits into three looks like it would cause some serious injuries at playtime.

Here, FEMAIL shares some of the most baffling and hilarious design fails you are likely to see…

This toilet paper holder, thought to be in a North American bathroom, is in the perfect spot…if you’re a giant with arms that can bend around walls, that is

This sign, thought to be in the US, illustrates the importance of punctuation when it comes to designing signs

Being more eco-friendly is great…it’s just sort of difficult to understand how this metre, thought to be in a Canadian underground garage, is going to run off solar power

Surely someone must have thought about what this children’s slide at the Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm in Clevedon was going to look like before signing it off?

Spotted in what is believed to be an Eastern European location, the mirrored ceiling in this bathroom affords people who are taking a bathroom break very little privacy

This bizarre slide (which appears to have been modelled after a banana skin) looks like it could cause some serious damage to anyone who plays on it

Perhaps in this case, it’s unfair to blame the designer, and more appropriate to comment on the user error, of using the tiny peephole…instead of the giant pane of glass to look through

Another day, another piece of signage in New Zealand destroyed because nobody remembered to think about placement…

Yet another example of how taking a few extra minutes during the design process would have yielded a much better result. How many elderly children are they expecting to use this toilet?
