Revealed: The biggest airport in the world – which is the same size as NYC!

A TikToker revealed the three largest airports in the world, the biggest being the same size as New York City.

According to @dtvaldez353, the biggest airport is King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

King Fahd International Airport spans ‘an unbelievable 301.5 square miles’ ‘eight times the size of Paris.’

The other two airports @dtvaldez353 discussed in the TikTok video are Denver International Airport in Colorado and Istanbul International Airport in Turkey.

A TikToker revealed that the biggest airport in the world is King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia. It is known to be the same size as New York City

The airport is named after King and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – the country’s fifth monarch

37 airlines are offered at the airport that can take passengers to 43 different destinations worldwide

Also known as Dammam International Airport, King Fahd International Airport is named after King and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The airport website indicates that the location ‘serves as the gateway to a region with a population of over four million people.’

37 airlines are offered at the airport that can take passengers to 43 different destinations worldwide.

It helps more than ten million passengers a year and fliers can get to the airport by car, taxi, or bus.

King Fahd International Airport also provides VIP services like airport transfer with special vehicles and lounges.

There are two VIP lounges: Tashrefat and Tanfeethi.

The Tashrefat offers meet and greet services for passengers looking for assistance in baggage drop off and expedited security and immigration procedures.

Tangfeethi, or The Executive Office, is lounge exclusively for passengers traveling to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Denver International is not the size of King Fahd International Airport, but the size is a whopping 53 square miles according to Metro Denver EDC.

Other than airlines, the airport offers six floors full of amenities like restaurants, shops, and car rentals.

A unique feature about Denver International Airport is the peaked roof at the Jeppesen Terminal.

The roof was designed by Fentress Bradburn Architects to reflect the snowy mountains in Colorado.

The roof’s shape was also designed to honor the history of Colorado when Native Americans teepees were located in the Great Plains.

Istanbul International Airport in Turkey may sound like the largest airport since it offers flights to more than 350 destinations in 110 countries.

However, it is only nearly 30 square miles and has one terminal building despite surviving as ‘a gateway between Europe and Asia.’

Istanbul International Airport is home to several restaurants, and even includes art galleries and a prayer room.

The location is getting bigger by the day since it is under construction.

When construction is finished, the Turkey airport will have four terminal buildings, six runways, and is expected to host more than 200 million passengers by 2025.

Denver International International Airport also has a variety of theories that it is also the home for underground bankers and extraterrestrial activity

Several TikTok users aren’t pleased with the video despite the facts about each airport.

@dtvaldez353 stated that Istanbul was the third largest airport in the world.

A TikToker commented that Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia is actually the third biggest, and according to AFAR magazine, the user’s correction is correct.

The Malaysian airport is 39 square miles, which is almost ten more than Istanbul International.

Another airport that was brought by users was the Beijing Daxing International Airport in China, which some suggested was bigger than all airports mentioned.

The South China Morning Post reported otherwise, stating that the airport is only 18 square miles, but has the biggest terminal in the world.

The TikTok user received negative reviews for his video due what many consider errors in the largest airports

Other TikTokers wrote about their own experiences at other airports in Amsterdam and Atlanta.

‘Atlanta Georgia airport is huge,’ wrote a TikTok user.

‘Amsterdam Schiphol Airport really shocked me how HUGE it is,’ wrote another TikToker.

‘It took 40 minutes to walk at full hilt between connecting flight gates, and they were not even that far from each other on the map.’
