Sri Lanka Travel Guide | Colombo, Galle, Udawalawe, Yala, Ella Train, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy & Sigiriya

This video is our Sri Lanka travel guide showing you the loop we traveled starting in Colombo, south to Galle, and staying at the Shangri-La resort on the south coast near Udawalawe National Park and Yala National Park. We then traveled north into the central mountains to Ella and rode the famous Sri Lanka train through Ella to Nuwara Eliya. We enjoyed climbing Little Adams Peak and seeing the 9 Arches bridge as the Ella train went through the beautiful tea plantations of Sri Lanka.

Our top in Nuwara Eliya was enjoyable as we walked around the town lake, saw more tea plantations and tried some Sri Lankan food. We then rode north through Kandy to see the amazing Sigiriya Fortress. The hike up the 1200 plus steps to the top of Sigiriya, known as the “Lion Rock” was a one-in-a-lifetime experience. The dramatic landscape, the stairway, the views, and the history make this a must visit.
