It’s the perfect combination.

This £180million (200million euros) superyacht isn’t just ultra opulent, it’s green too – perfect for eco-warrior billionaires. And it’s something of a floating fortress, because it comes with a state-of-the-art safe room.

Stunning renderings reveal Ultra2, a 311ft vessel that its designers say is ‘ultra quality in both style and eco-friendliness’ – and they definitely have a point as it runs on batteries and comes with two swimming pools and an Imax cinema.

There will be space for 14 passengers on board Ultra2, along with 26 crew, and room for various toys and tenders including a helicopter

According to the designers, Berlin-based T. Fotiadis Design, the concept would use the ‘finest materials and workmanship’ to make the interiors ‘inviting and luxurious’.

It says: ‘A relaxed mood of comfort and serenity comes from luxurious bespoke interiors and solid construction quality.

‘Cabins and public spaces will be trimmed in T. Fotiadis’ recognisable signature use of the highest quality interior materials, fabrics and furniture.’

The superyacht will also have oversized window panels to ‘create breathtaking views’ and ‘clean expressive lines that highlight the hull silhouette’.

And woven into the vessel is the ‘unique safe core’, which combines ‘a contemporary suite with an extraordinary diplomatic-grade secure-meeting environment for the ultimate expression of security and connected seclusion’.

This military-grade element would be designed by UK-based PDP Marine, a ‘bespoke privacy solutions’ firm.

It adds: ‘Ultra2’s “secure core” comprises a state-of-the-art protective zone, woven into the vessel in such a manner that its very existence is not apparent until called upon.

‘If required, however, it offers a redoubt against adversaries somewhat more capable than pirates. When combined with PDP’s secure meeting environment – essentially, a room that’s impervious to electronic eavesdropping – Ultra2’s privacy capabilities surpass even those associated with the terrestrial diplomatic infrastructure of many nation states. Basically, Ultra2 has the potential to serve as the ultimate floating embassy for the world’s elite.’

The ship, which will have a top speed of 16 knots, will be driven by an all-electric propulsion system and powered by hybrid diesel-electric motors.

According to the designers, methanol fuel cells will operate continuously and provide ‘high performance to keep the batteries charged and ready for action’.

During port operations or when cruising at low speeds, the methanol fuel cells charge the batteries. T. Fotiadis Design explains that this means ‘there is always enough energy for both the electric motors and all ships systems’.

T. Fotiadis Design says: ‘Ultra2 runs smoothly, comfortably and efficiently while remaining committed to reducing our environmental footprint. It is a modern classic with an eye for a cleaner future’

It adds: ‘Ultra2 is the ultimate ready-to-build concept that uses the best-proven technologies from skilled teams that support T. Fotiadis Design with their knowledge and experience gathered from past projects.

‘It runs smoothly, comfortably and efficiently while remaining committed to reducing our environmental footprint. It is a modern classic with an eye for a cleaner future.

‘As the next generation of superyacht designers, we should ensure that the oceans and all aquatic life animals are treated in the best way possible and Ultra2 is our answer.’

T. Fotiadis Design says it has already received interest from some individuals and top brokerage firms.
