And now, the prestigious Prix Versailles, a series of architectural competitions that shine a light on the finest contemporary projects worldwide, has named the most beautiful new hotels in the world for 2026.

Combining jaw-dropping design and a connection with their surroundings, these properties really make a statement.

But a night at one doesn’t necessarily need to break the bank, as prices start from just £134 a night.

Read on below to discover the breathtaking establishments noted for their beauty.

The ArcadiaPlace, Lugu Lake, China

The ArcadiaPlace, Lugu Lake, in China offers rooms with jaw-dropping mountain views

Overlooking an Alpine lake in Sichuan, China, the ArcadiaPlace Hotel is surrounded by lush mountains.

It’s tucked beside two ancient Mosuo villages and boasts beautiful rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the green landscape that envelopes the hotel. 

Cost to stay? For one night from August 8 to 9, the mountain view twin room costs 2,630CNY (£286.42) for a single person. 

It offers views of the mountains and has a balcony, while the interior is decorated in natural muted tones with a minimalist design. 

The Silk Lakehouse, Shangri-La Hangzhou, China

Another impressive hotel in China, The Silk Lakehouse, Shangri-La Hangzhou, can be found on the UNESCO-listed West Lake. 

Designed around a silk merchant’s home, the hotel aims to incorporate modern luxuries and traditional elements side by side. 

Cost to stay? One night in the garden view room will set you back £429 from August 8 to 9. It includes a mini bar and coffee maker, amongst other features, as well as a standalone bathtub.

Guests are also treated to a 24-hour personal host service that can help with tailor-made experiences.  

Sir Prague, Czechia

Sir Prague, in Czechia, has been designed with Prague’s Bohemian spirit in mind

Located in Czechia, Sir Prague stands beside the Vltava River and boasts 76 elegant rooms. 

The hotel has its own grand library and has been crafted with Prague’s Bohemian spirit in mind. 

Cost to stay? A night in the Sir Boutique room costs from 4,400 CZK per night (£156.46), August 8 to 9. 

It treats guests to a king-size bed and overlooks a courtyard or cobblestone street.  

Alternatively, suites start from 7,900 CZK per night (£280.90) for the Sir Corner River View option. 

Chiemgauhof Lakeside Retreat, Übersee, Germany

La Fondation, Paris, France
