Floating in the woodland, these giant orbs look like UFOs.

But they are actually wacky tents offered as accommodation by the National Trust.

They are set to be opened to the public next month and can sleep up to three adults.

They cost £120 per night on weekends and in high season, with the price dropping to £100 per night from Sunday to Thursday in low season.

Children are allowed to stay, too, but they must be over the age of five.

To reach the tent, guests must climb up a step ladder to the entrance, where they will find a wood burner and benches which converted into beds.

The National Trust says that once lying in bed, holidaymakers will be able to ‘gaze up at the little window and enjoy the stars though the canopy of leaves’.

The tents also come with their own rustic camp kitchen, located on the ground, with everything guests will need to create delicious camp meals.

Unfortunately if the weather takes a turn for the worse, and gusts of wind exceed 32 mph, the National Trust will cancel any bookings.

However, guests will be offered a refund or a transfer to another date.

James Ingham, head of holidays at the National Trust, said: ‘These tents allow you to take a deep breath for a night or a few days.

‘Spending a night under canvas up a tree is getting you closer to nature and your surrounding environment while leaving the stresses of modern life behind.’
