The UK’s ‘tallest and fastest roller coaster’ is unveiled in spellbinding POV video: ‘Hyperia’ in Thorpe Park will reach a height of 236ft and travel at 80mph

Thorpe Park has unveiled the UK’s ‘tallest and fastest roller coaster’ in a thrilling new point-of-view (POV) video.

Set to launch in 2024, ‘Hyperia’ soars to 236 feet (71m) in height and reaches full-throttle speeds of over 80mph.

The nerve-shredding CGI video reveals the hair-raising twists and turns – and a huge stomach-churning drop with a summit high above the park.

Thorpe Park claims thrill seekers will ‘twist like never before’ and ‘feel weightless’ aboard the new ride.

Hyperia is currently being manufactured by Mack Rides, with construction having begun in January 2023, according to Theme Park Tourist.

The ride features three inversions including a dive loop and an ‘Immelman’ – which is a hill climb followed by a half loop and a half twist.

‘We are excited for thrillseekers to be able to try out Hyperia, which will be a must-visit for those looking to embark on an exhilarating adventure with friends and family.’
