From Tokyo to Vienna, the world’s most coveted hotel addresses have been revealed – with 50 properties across six continents making the cut for 2026.
The fourth annual edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels spans 22 territories, bringing together grand European landmarks, design-led city stays and secluded retreats.
Europe dominates this year’s ranking with 21 hotels, including six each in Italy and France, while the UK has four properties in the top 50. Asia follows closely behind with 18 hotels, cementing its place as a powerhouse of global hospitality.
From a perennial Hong Kong favourite to lavish Parisian suites costing tens of thousands of pounds a night, this year’s list offers a glimpse at where the world’s most discerning travellers are checking in.
HONG KONG
The winner of this year’s World’s 50 Best Hotels is Rosewood Hong Kong
The very best can be found in Asia, with Rosewood Hong Kong taking first place in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026 – following its win in the 2025 list.
Rising 65 storeys above Victoria Harbour, this contemporary landmark has become a distinctive presence on Hong Kong’s skyline since opening its doors in 2019.
The hotel was conceived by acclaimed Taiwanese designer Tony Chi, whose refined approach is reflected throughout its 413 rooms and suites, as well as its impressive collection of 11 restaurants and bars.
2. Capella Bangkok
BANGKOK, THAILAND
Winning the silver medal in second place is Capella Bangkok
The number two spot goes to Capella Bangkok, a refined riverside retreat set along the east bank of the Chao Phraya River.
The hotel, which ranked number one in 2024, has risen from its third-place ranking in 2025.
Situated on the Chao Phraya River, the classy establishment has 101 rooms, villas and suites to choose from.
BANGKOK, THAILAND
Taking the bronze medal is Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River
Asia manages to dominate the top three, with Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River placing third.
It’s located along the River of Kings and boasts Mediterranean-style gardens and a whopping 299 bedrooms.
‘The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River sets the bar for every other hotel,’ one guest wrote of their experience here on Google Reviews this summer. ‘Of all the hotels we have stayed at across many different countries, this was by far our best overall experience.’
DUBAI, UAE
One of Dubai’s most opulent hotels is Atlantis The Royal
‘Luxury’ is certainly the word that comes to mind when considering Atlantis The Royal in Dubai – glamorous even by Dubai standards.
It has climbed from sixth place last year to fourth this year, with its 760 rooms, signature penthouses with private infinity pools, and some of the best hotel suites in the world.
The Best Beach Hotel Award was also presented to Atlantis The Royal.
LAKE COMO, ITALY
Celebrity-approved Passalacqua is one of the most impressive European hotels on the list
The highest-ranking European entry is Passalacqua in Lake Como, which additionally won the Best Boutique Hotel Award for the third consecutive year.
This award recognises the highest-ranked hotel that meets the criteria of a boutique property.
According to The 50, a boutique hotel is defined as having fewer than 50 rooms, operating independently of a major hotel chain or group, and offering personalised service alongside distinctive characteristics that reflect its destination.
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL
Rosewood São Paulo takes position number six on the full ranking
Elsewhere, in South America, Rosewood São Paulo has risen 18 places since the 2025 awards.
Occupying an old maternity ward and visionary vertical garden tower, the hotel boasts 181 rooms, suites and 100 Rosewood Residences, each creatively curated with books, artwork and wood walls, while over 450 commissioned pieces by Brazilian talents shape the art gallery.
Dining is an homage to the city’s thriving food scene, with six restaurants and bars, led by up-and-coming chefs.
BEIJING, CHINA
Up next on the list is Mandarin Oriental Qianmen
Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing takes the seventh spot on the list.
The hotel comprises 42 exclusive courtyard houses within traditional hutong neighbourhoods along Beijing’s Central Axis.
TIAO, the hotel’s contemporary cocktail bar, has also earned a place on the 2026 Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, further underscoring the hotel’s excellence in the food, beverage and lifestyle space.
HONG KONG
Another spot in this city to make the cut is Upper House Hong Kong
In eighth place on the list is another property in Asia – Upper House Hong Kong.
The hotel has Hong Kong Park at its doorstep, and every room opens to sweeping views of Victoria Harbour or the city.
It’s ideal for business travellers seeking a quieter stay, or those who value design-led interiors.
CHOCHOLA, MEXICO
If you’re heading to Mexico, book a stay at Chablé Yucatán
From the moment you arrive at Chablé Yucatán, you’ll notice that nature is at the forefront of it all: birds singing, natural light in the rooms and greenery everywhere you look.
The rooms have been designed, using locally sourced materials, by renowned Mexican interior designer Paulina Morán.
It’s racked up plenty of awards, too, from two Michelin keys to a number eight spot in last year’s World’s 50 Best Hotels.
BANGKOK, THAILAND
Rounding out the top 10 on the list is the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Mandarin Oriental Bangkok rounds out the top 10 in the list.
Built in 1876 and located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the 331-room hotel has been an inspiration to a host of world-renowned writers including Joseph Conrad.
It has 11 restaurants and bars, serving everything from traditional Thai cuisine to Michelin-starred French fine dining at Le Normandie.
TOKYO, JAPAN
Next up on the list is Aman Tokyo in Japan
Contemporary design, Japanese tradition and a highly luxurious ambience are what Aman Tokyo is famed for.
From Aman Tokyo’s lobby, panoramic views extend from the Imperial Palace gardens, across the city, to Mount Fuji and beyond – all underneath an imposing 30-metre ceiling.
‘Aman Tokyo has always stood apart. Rising above the ever-shifting Tokyo skyline, Aman’s first urban sanctuary introduced a new kind of hotel to the city’s scene,’ is how the hotel describes itself.
12. Four Seasons Firenze
FLORENCE, ITALY
Four Seasons Firenze is a natural oasis in the heart of Florence
The 11‑acre Giardino della Gherardesca on the grounds of Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is one of the largest private gardens in Florence – making it an oasis in the heart of one of Italy’s best cities for an art- and culture-fuelled weekend away.
The hotel blends Renaissance grandeur with authentic Italian hospitality, and last year reopened its Palazzo del Nero, an intimate historic palace pairing with Palazzo della Gherardesca inside the hotel.

The UK had a positive turnout and managed to bag four spots in the top 50 overall, the highest being Claridge’s.
Claridge’s ranked 13th in the list, up from 16th last year, and is a longstanding venue in the London hotel scene, first opening in 1856.
Elegantly decorated, the hotel is renowned for being one of the most luxurious in the city and has hosted royalty and celebrities.
PARIS, FRANCE
For historic Parisian charm, few hotels can rival the Hôtel de Crillon

Dubai is known for its opulent hotels, as the list has already demonstrated.

Chic Capella Sydney takes 16th place on the ranking
Capella Sydney’s appearance among the world’s elite will come as little surprise to anyone who has stepped inside.
The celebrity haunt occupies an imposing Edwardian sandstone building just moments from Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, blending its grand historic bones with contemporary Australian art and polished yet unpretentious luxury.
Hidden away for hotel guests is one of the most serene spaces in the country, centred around a 20-metre indoor pool surrounded by soft lighting and a meditative atmosphere.
SINGAPORE
Raffles Singapore is one of two establishments from the luxury brand to make the list
Raffles Singapore was named after Sir Stamford Raffles, who colonised Singapore 200 years ago for the British East India Company.
It has cultural credentials too – Noel Coward first stayed for a month in 1930, after completing Private Lives.
It’s not the only Raffles property to make the list – Raffles London at The OWO takes spot 28.
MODENA, ITALY
This elegant Italian countryside retreat also makes the top 50
Casa Maria Luigia is an intimate house in the Italian countryside – and comes in 18th place on the list.
The 18th-century property has individually designed rooms, each with hand-selected artworks.
You can also book the hotel’s intimate cottage with a private entrance and patio in the gardens of Casa Maria Luigia, perfect for a real disconnect from reality.
PARIS, FRANCE
Next up on the list is glitzy Le Bristol, located in the French capital
Le Bristol is renowned for its Michelin-starred dining tradition, beautiful courtyard garden, rooftop swimming pool and collection of artisan ateliers.
Suites are luxurious and designed in a Parisian style.
Plus, the hotel is home to four Michelin stars, from the upmarket Epicure restaurant to the one-star 114 Faubourg brasserie, and the elegant Café Antonia.
PARIS, FRANCE
Cheval Blanc Paris is home to one of Europe’s best spas
Set along the River Seine in the 1st Arrondissement of the capital, Cheval Blanc Paris seamlessly integrates into the iconic La Samaritaine department store facing the Pont Neuf.

For beaches, coastal views and family-friendly fun, head to One&Only Mandarina
Set against the untamed beauty of Riviera Nayarit’s landscape and nearly 200 miles of untouched Pacific shoreline, One&Only Mandarina is a perfect choice for a Mexican getaway.
It’s great for kids, too. When an Oscar-winning art director designs the children’s club, you know you’ve dealt a killer blow to holiday boredom.

Bulgari Hotel Tokyo was the first Bulgari hotel in Japan – and takes 24th place on the list.
It occupies floors 40 to 45 of an ultra-skyscraper in the Yaesu 2-Chome North District overlooking the iconic red brick Tokyo Station, the Imperial Palace Garden and the city all the way to Mt Fuji.
The hotel also hosts experiences including the Bvlgari Spa, the Bvlgari Bar and Sushi Restaurant.
