The world’s only all-white panda has been caught on camera trying to interact with its black-and-white brethren.
Infrared cameras captured the albino panda approaching a mother and her cub in the Wolong National Nature Reserve in China’s Sichuan province.
Remarkable footage showed the black-and-white mother panda staying calm as the albino slowly crept up towards her and her cub who was resting in a tree hollow.
After the white panda came to a standstill and started to stare up at the cub, the mother appeared to chase it away.
Once the mother and cub had fled the area themselves, the all-white panda returned and sniffed every place that the pair had been staying.

The reserve management authorities said on Saturday that there was a possibility that the female was the mother of the all-white panda – hence why it stayed calm, The Straits Times reports.
Mr Wei Rongping, a senior engineer at the China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Pandas told the publication: ‘The cub in the footage is about one to two years old, and the all-white panda is nearly the size of an adult.
‘At the end of February, wild pandas in Wolong have entered the oestrus season, during which the female pandas with cubs can be very aggressive when an adult panda approaches or invades.
‘This female panda was extremely calm and did not conform to the general rule. One possibility is that the female panda is the mother of the all-white panda.’
There are said to be another 15 video recordings of the three pandas overlapping within a short time frame, according to the authorities at Wolong National Nature Reserve.
The unique animal first cropped up after infrared cameras captured it trekking through the nature reserve about 2,000 metres above sea level in April 2019. The panda was thought, at the time, to be aged one to two years old.

An albino panda, whose condition is caused by a genetic mutation, is incredibly rare, given how infrequently albinism occurs and that the animal belongs to a vulnerable species.

According to the WWF, who has used a panda as their logo since it was founded in 1961, there around 1,864 pandas in the wild.
In 2017, the conservation organisation reported that wild panda numbers were rebounding and its status was changed from endangered to vulnerable.
