This video shows what looks like a regular business-class plane passenger in a window seat, relaxing with a drink in hand with the tray table down as the aircraft swoops over turquoise waters.
But within a few seconds – as the camera operator moves backwards – comes the big reveal. The plane ‘window’ is, in fact, the door of a washing machine, the plane wing and scenery visible through it is actually a clip playing on a tablet placed inside and the tray table is a bin lid.
The clip was created, with the world grounded, by the would-be ‘passenger’, Jeroen Gortworst, who hails from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and uploaded to Tik Tok, where it has been viewed millions of times.

Jeroen, who has never actually flown business class before, told MailOnline Travel: ‘I saw on Tik Tok that people were doing videos pretending to be on a plane, then I thought it would be a good idea to make my own version with our washing machine because it looks like an airplane window.
‘I only spent about 10 minutes dressing the set with all the props with my boyfriend and it only took us three takes to get the shot.’
The clip on the tablet is of the island of St Maarten – something Jeroen only found out when he began getting messages of support from the locals.
He continued: ‘I’m really surprised by how popular it has been. The video got 40,000 views on Tik Tok – then I received many messages from people in St Maarten.
‘I saw that it was posted on a Facebook page there and it had already six million views by that time.
‘People sent me messages thanking me for picking St Maarten to be on the screen in the washing machine.
‘To be honest, I wasn’t even aware it was St Maarten!’

Jeroen isn’t the only one who has managed to recreate a holiday experience at home.
Last month, a couple who abandoned their cruise plans due to the coronavirus crisis recreated the holiday – from the comfort of their living room.
Dave and Norma Trill, both 74, from Melbourne, were due to go on a 10-day Royal Caribbean cruise around the Pacific islands to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary.
But when they decided it was best to cancel, they refused to let their spirits sink. Instead, they threw on their bathrobes, relaxed on their armchairs with glasses of wine and put a video of a gently undulating seascape on their TV – as the next best thing.
