Traveling to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2021– Travel Tips – Riu Bambu All-Inclusive 5-Star Resort

Dear Friends!

During these times of pandemic due to Covid-19, the traveling became very difficult. I am sure most of you are wondering where to go in 2020 or 2021 after lockdown is lifted. So, one of the places where US citizens can travel now in 2020 and 2021 is Dominican Republic.

Today we are heading to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. After taking a long break in traveling due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are finally taking a flight to the Dominican Republic. The flight is 4 hours from New York, NY or Newark, NJ. Since September 15, 2020 COVID test is no longer required to enter Dominican Republic. In the airport of Punta Cana, random COVID tests are being conducted (3-15% of arriving passengers). Please check government guidance before traveling as this info could change.

You can find info updated for 2021 here (not affiliated):

Recently, the U.S. government announced that all persons entering the country from an international location would be required to produce proof of a negative COVID-19 test that was administered 72 hours prior to arrival.

We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel – Riu Bambu All Inclusive 5 Star Resort. The price of taxi depends on the distance to the hotel you are staying and ranges $30-$50.

All info about Riu Bambu Resort you can find on their website www.riu.com and the App “Riu Guest Info”.

“Situated on the incredible Playa Arena Gorda beach, the Hotel Riu Bambu 5* offers you the best amenities for enjoying your stay to the utmost. This family hotel in Punta Cana with 24-hour all inclusive service has free WiFi throughout the entire hotel, swimming pools for children and adults, and an extensive entertainment program to make your holiday with RIU Hotels & Resorts unforgettable.”
